While medicine is my passion and career, I believe maintaining a well-rounded life makes for the best doctors. Here you'll find my interests outside the hospital and laboratory that keep me inspired.
The Insight
"If you never miss a plane, you're spending too much time at the airport."
– George Stigler
I believe that meaningful growth demands taking risks. Not in spite of risk, but because of it. My diverse interests—whether in photography, mountain biking, or coding—reflect this mindset and fuel my creativity both in medicine and in life.
The Formula
"The optimal rate of failure indicates how often you should expect to fail if you're taking the right number of chances."
Foptimal = Gainsuccess – Lossfailure – Costattempt
F = optimal rate of failure
Gain = expected gain if it's successful
Loss = expected losses if it fails
Cost = cost of trying
This philosophy, "The Optimal Rate of Failure," guides my approach to life. It's about recognizing that every failed attempt is a step closer to success. It's about embracing the idea that trying to attain a failure rate of 0 is a failure in itself.
Photography allows me to capture moments and see the world through a different lens. I particularly enjoy astrophotography and landscape photography during my travels.
Mountain biking offers both physical challenge and mental escape. I try to hit the trails whenever possible to stay active and connect with nature.
Cooking is my creative outlet and a way to unwind. I enjoy experimenting with different cuisines and techniques, particularly fusion dishes that blend cultural influences.
Living in Grenada gave me the perfect opportunity to explore the underwater world. Scuba diving provides a peaceful escape and fascinating glimpse into marine ecosystems.
Motorcycling offers a sense of freedom and adventure. I enjoy the clarity of mind that it gives me after a long day of work or on a roadtrip through the Alps with friends.
My interest in technology extends to coding and home automation projects. This website was built from scratch by me and hosted on a server that I built and maintain myself.
